Is It Better To Have A Well-paid Job That I Don't Like Or A Poorly Paid Job That I Like?

Answer Question

It depends on your circumstances. If you are in a well-paid job which you dislike but you have a family to provide for then you may want to stick with it a little longer until you are in a comfortable enough financial situation to get out of it.

It depends what type of person you are. If you are someone who is serious about your career and you want something fulfilling, then go for a job that you enjoy, and if you want something that you enjoy which pays well, then choose a job you like the sound of which offers the chance of promotion.

If you are someone who enjoys buying all the latest gadgets and you wish to have a large home and lots of money, then you could go for a job which you don't particularly like that pays well. After all, even if you don't like the job you will still have the money to treat yourself every now and then!

This question can be argued from either side. Even poorly paid jobs have advancement opportunities and well paying jobs can lead to other well paying jobs. I have had teacher who knew so much they could have easily gotten a higher paying job, but they had such a passion for teaching they said they wouldn't have been happy doing anything else. Then there are the Homer Simpson's of the world. On one episode he quit his well paying job to live a more frugal, but happier life. Then Marge gets pregnant with Maggie and he has to go back to the job he hates to support her. At the end of the episode he puts a bunch of her pictures up to cover up a sign so it  says "do it for her".  It all depends on how you want to live and what your willing to live without, which makes this a very personal question. There is no right or wrong answer just one that is right or wrong for you.

I was a postal carrier making good money and benefits and all that.. I was completely miserable doing it. I was fed up and left. I fell into the hotel business and now I am making close to the amount I was making and now I am sooooo happy with this job. I've been doing it for two years now and haven't had a bad day!!!
