A yearly publication including weather forecasts and other diverse information approved in proportion to the calendar of a given year is known as Almanac. It is definitely a type of non fiction because it is based on very clear and direct kind of information. Sometimes it is also known as farmer's calendar. The information was stored on these calendars in tabular form and it also had contained astronomical and galactic information. Information like the rising and setting of the moon, time of full tides and eclipses etc is also integrated on these calendars.

When almanacs were originally contrived, community still assured slight dissimilarity between forecasting the motions of the stars and tides, and forecasting the upcoming in the prediction sagacity. Early on almanacs consequently incorporated all-purpose horoscopes, plus the further existing information.

The basis of the word almanac is indistinct and blurred. Different dictionaries define this word in different ways and so is the case with the history and origin of this word. There were different formats for these types of calendars that were preferred and used according to the traditions and requirements.
