Mozambique is a country in Southeastern Africa that gained independence from Portugal in the year 1975. After the WW2, the European Nations started granting Independence to the colonies Whereas the portuguese dictator António de Oliveira Salazar abstained even the thoughts of it. In 1962, many anti colonial political groups emerged and in 1964 started an armed campaign against portuguese rule in the form of Front for the Liberation of Mozambique (FRELIMO). After 10 years of war they took control of the capital via a coup and Mozambique gained independence in 1975.
