She will have dark brown waxy stuff in hr ears, and it will have a strong smell with a little bit of yeastiness to it. It will clear up very quickly, but it requires a prescription cream from your vet. I'm sure there are many different home remedies sited on the Internet if you care to surf around... below are a couple you can try, if you cant get her in right away... (Feeding a couple Tbsp. Of natural yogurt daily will go a long way to preventing yeast infections in the future.)
-Mix white vinegar with water in a 1:2 ration (2/3 water, 1/3 white vinegar) The acidity makes it hard for some bacteria to grow and this has an astringent effect. It stings if there is any ulceration of the ear canal, though.

-Mix 3% hydrogen peroxide 1:1 with warm water. This is less antibacterial but is a little better at aiding in the removal of cerumen from the ears. It is not as likely to cause discomfort if the ear is inflamed.
Several times a day. Gently wipe the inside of your dog's ear with a cotton ball or soft cloth to remove debris, soak a couple cotton balls in the solution, squeeze out excess. Carefully insert into the ear, and massage for a count of 10 to 20 seconds. Remove all the cotton from of the ears and wait five minutes. Allow dog to shake and massage to try and loosen up wax. If your dog shows no discomfort , do it again for a 30-40 count and this time follow up with a couple dry Cotton Balls to absorb moisture and/or a cotton ball moistened with Tea Tree Oil (health food store).
