It is in the Hertfordshire where you can find the village and Parish of Flaunden. It is situated on the border with Buckinghamshire County and earlier it was a part of Buckinghamshire itself.
The village is known to be historic one and the church of the village is designed by Gilbert Scott, one of most well known Victorian architects. It was the first Church that the architect had designed. But the name of the village is derived from a man who built a church way back in the year 1235. Thomas Flaunden who was a chapel to Hemel Hampstead built the church and dedicated it to St. Mary Magdalene. This church was abandoned in the year 1825 because of some accessibility limitations and the church built by Gilbert Scott took its place.
