In The Two Thousand And Five, Two Thousand And Six Season, Which Side Won The Dutch National League?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

PSV Eindhoven won the two thousand and five, two thousand and six Dutch league title.

PSV finished the season ten points clear of their nearest rivals on eighty four points from their thirty four played, winning twenty six, drawing six and losing only two league games all season.  They also finished the season having scored seventy one goals, conceding only twenty three, giving them a goal difference of plus forty eight.

Runners up in the two thousand and five, two thousand and six season were the relatively unknown side AZ Alkmaar, who ended the season three points clear of the side in third place.  AZ won twenty three of their thirty four matches and finished as worthy runners up, with the second best goal difference, with champions PSV, the only side to win more league matches than them.

Feyenoord finished in third place, on seventy one points with former European champions Ajax a massive elven points away in fourth with sixty.
