Discovercard Just Sent Me An INTENT TO SUE Letter. What Should I Do If I Don't Have A Job?

I called & the man was hostile & abusive but then was a little nicer later, but he said he can't accept a small amount of $$. I'm disabled & receive SSI & Social Security. Only $657/mo. Total. My rent is 1/2 of that. I was making ALL payments on time until Hurricane Katrina. I have been stuck & struggling ever since, trying to replace my losses. He tried to say Hurricane Katrina was my fault. I'm willing to pay all the & student loans I owe, but no one wants to hire me because I seem mentally "slow" to them.

I would try calling one more time and if you get the same man ask to speak to his supervisor, then explain the situation to them and they probably will work with you. If that dose not work than contact a lawyer of your own and ask them to help  you set up a court mediation between you and discover card. The odds are that once they get the word about a court mediation they will call you back with all kinds of apologies for there incompetent people and offer to help you any way they can. That is because they want there money from you and do not want to get the courts involved especially if there was any shady business practices by them.

First of all the amount of money you are sending is fine. They can't sue you for sending the amount you are sending and they can't refuse payment. Next time get a tape recorder and record u'r conversation with them. If they do bring you to court the judge will hear how the treat you for there money and they will also here that they r refusing the amount you can pay. The judge will make them work with u
