How Often Can I Give My Three Year Old Who Is Always Constipated A Enema?

Answer Question

Frequent enemas for toddlers are not recommended.  If your child is constipated regularly, a change in diet and bathroom habits are required.  You can give her or him non-habit forming laxatives, until their stools become softer on a regular basis.  The following website discusses, in detail (and with suggested brand names), what you can do to turn this painful situation around. I followed the advice for my child, starting about 7 months ago, and it has made a difference in the number of stomach aches she has had and in the pain she associated with pooping.
