The kidneys perform the function of controlling the amount of fluid that is retained in our bodies. They also regulate the hormones in our bodies, produce red blood cells and strengthen our bodies. The kidneys filter the blood in our body and that is why they are sensitive to the things that we eat and drink.

When the kidneys are not filtering, this would mean that the body is retaining the water and this can lead to the toxins building up in the body because they are not being filtered. In such cases, the patients can have swelling in the face, ankles, legs and even throughout the body.  This can cause reduction in the Red blood cells and reduce the energy of the patient and the patient can become anemic due to the reduction in red blood cells. This can also ultimately lead to Kidney failure.
