    The quote 'All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts' was written by author James Allen in most famous book called 'As a Man Thinketh'.

    The book was a huge best seller and is regarded by some to be partially to blame for the generation of the whole personal development industry. The proof of this statement lies in the fact that many self help gurus such as Mark Victor Hansen, Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Dennis Waitley etc accredit this book as giving them the basis for their principles.

    James Allen was an author whose main body of work dealt with motivational books and poems. His above mentioned book, 'As a Man Thinketh' was out in 1902 and is now regarded to be a classic book in the area of self help.
