Unfortunately they are a necessary evil. If men and women could be honest, and enlightened on the law, they would not be necessary. However, we as humans are liars and self centered, greedy and manipulative. Ergo, we need lawyers to sort out the messes we make. Lawyers are not humanitarians, they are in it for the money, just as we are.

Well this one has conformed to humanitarianism my angel...♥nassy [But I must admit I sure do miss the big paydays!]
I think from what I have seen and been through they do not care at all about the law or the victims it is just for who has the most money.
My Mom went she got her divorce her attorney sold her out after court he went in to practice with my Dads attorney.
When I got my divorce my X family had money so he got a high dollar attorney I could not afford one like that so the Judge gave him coustody of my daughter.after they ran my name into the ground and said since I did not graduate from high school I could not afford to keep her and also said my parents did not count.
I have very bitter feelings towards lawyers

But if you found yourself in jail, God forbid, who would be the 1st person you'd call?...♥Nassy
Wow nassy it seems like nobody likes us but when it comes to them being in trouble or just need advise then we are always first in line
On
Some are good, some aren't, it's a matter I think of them wanting to be there, and doing something to help the innocent, or to put the bad guy away. I really wish there was no need for them, but alas, there is. I might look for one next year, got some legal stuff to take care of. Ugh.

If I may help, you know how to reach me via 4 ways...lol...♥Nassy
We are a litigious society. People will sue over the slightest thing in hopes of getting money. I think most lawyers have no scruples but will do or say anything to win a law suit. I think in law school they have courses to remove their ethics. How do I personally feel about lawyers……that is hard to answer? When you need someone to right a wrong for you then a good lawyer is great to have. Generally they are intelligent people. Unfortunately the few really corrupt ones give them all a bad name.

Thank you sweetie pie...I am 1 of the good guys;okay? Lol...♥Nassy
Well I like the profession as that was a aspiration of mine before ending up in the military, and could have still became one but as usual got sidetracked with the job at hand but I do see it as a good profession.....but you have to be good at serving the people and take their feelings etc. Into consideration,My hardest problem would be not winning my case for my client although you almost always know your chances from the start and many times you keep a ace in the hold so to speak....that is my story and I'm sticking to it...Smile

Hate to say, Nas...But I'm not in awe of most lawyers. Would say it's toss-up 4 me, since about half I know, stunk.
Honestly tho...kinda wish I became one myself. So please don't take offense. Worst case, was ( is ) Divorce lawyer. Still there, after 6 yrs. Yep... Just to get 50%. No custody battle. Just an idiot Ex, who has a penchant to put me out on the streets. He was pizzed I threw him out. (Gee...I'm getting' PRO, at throwing people out, huh?) Lawyer should've put HIM on the streets, knowing my condition, etc.. But, didn't. Tried to replace him after the 1st 3 yrs..But none wanted to take my case, so late in the game. Little did they ( or I ) know, it would STILL be going on !
P.S. You seem like a good guy, tho. ;0) Thanks 4 your help n' concern. Have ya noticed my updates ?

As in any profession there are good ones and some not so good, but I for one would certainly not get personally involved with one.

Oh, humbug!!! Lol...♥Nassy
Nassy you can say that again, I think we have to have a very serious talk with this man!!!!!!
My grandfather was an attorney and was one of the most ethical, moral and kind person I know. When Japanese-Americans were interned after Pearl Harbor, many of his clients (who were American citizens of Japanese descent) signed everything they owned over to him, trusting that he would give it back when the internment was over. He did. Not everyone was so lucky. Many Americas lost everything.
There are absolutely bad lawyers. There are bad people. But what many people don't always remember is that part of being American means Innocent Until Proven Guilty. Too often we try people based on what we read in the paper or hear on the news or read on the Internet. And a lawyer's job is to defend their client to the best of their ability.
My oldest sister is an attorney. She is a court commissioner and hears cases regarding child support. Her job is to not only decide how much someone (male or female) should pay in child support but to enforce those orders. Do you know how many she hears every month? Hundreds. And that's only for one small county. And that's because people want to avoid child support for whatever reason.
So how do I feel about lawyers? Obviously they are neccessary. And they are to be respected. Who do you call when you get a letter from the IRS? Your tax attorney? Adopt a child? Family lawyer? Falsely arrested? Criminal lawyer. People don't realize how much they need an attorney until they go into a court room without one. Ask my ex husband who thought he was too smart for one.

Thank you my sweet♥...you summed it all up for me in your final paragraph [[[hugs]]] ...♥nassy
Oh, and for everyone who says they can't afford an attorney--your local Bar Association can put you in contact with one who may take on your case Pro Bono--for no cost--if you qualify. I have had 2 Pro Bono attorneys working on my divorce because they feel so strongly about helping me.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.....good name for a movie! But hey they worked their way to pass the bar, no easy task! In general, I think they are destructive individuals to our society! Example, the Caylee Anthony case, they hoard to represent her because its a high profile case, not so much a care for someone who may be innocent elsewhere! Remember OJ! Anyway, so be it!
