I am remodeling my house with a truss roof and want to remove a center wall. How far will the trusses span, the house is 28' wide

It depends on the size of the materials and strength of the structure in which they are made. That is why they have what they call engineered trusses. You need to have a engineer come to your house and do some calculations on the effect of removing the wall or find out if it is a load bearing wall.
