India is a Hindu country, with most of its population being Hindus, and then the Sikhs and Muslims. The Indian culture contains many of the hues of Hinduism. Their traditions and Cultures are based upon Hinduism. There are several kinds of dances which have religious importance for the Hindu Community. These are performed at special occasions or at the sacred places of Hindus.
Indian women normally wear Saris. Women of all social positions sport wonderful varieties of Saris. Even the most poverty-stricken women are seen wearing colourful Saris. A Sari usually consists of a short blouse, and a long piece of cloth that is wound around the rest of the body with the end supported at the shoulder. Saris surely are difficult to wear for those who have no experience of handling them before.
But Indian women seem to be tactful at handling them, and keep it at place without any visible effort. Even the women working in fields don't seem to have any problem with the arrangement of their Saris.
With Westernisation becoming common in Asia, probably mostly in India, Pakistan and China, the colourful speck of Saris in India seems to be fading. But still, women of all ages seem to be glad to wear Saris at special occasions, especially religious ones.
