I don't know how old you are, but if you are old enough to drink, it could be gout coming on. If you are not old enough, or are and don't drink, then it is probably something you should see your doctor about eventually. But if you think it is swelling, and very painful, then you should go and see your doctor very soon, or go to the e.r. Hope this helps, good luck to you.
