I'm new and I was just wondering what all the guidelines, rules and terminology for Blurtit means.

Welcome aboard!! Hope you like it here, we are an odd lot, but a loving community too. Now, the shout box is in your profile, it's like a message board, and you can messages in there from other Blurters, and you can go to someone else's shout box, and leave a message for them too.
To get to your shout box, you just need to click on your username for the site. In there you will see all kinds of things, like 'most recent comment', or 'your questions', 'your answers', your 'friends list' and your personal info that you want to post.
To accept a friend you will notice down on the low right of your profile page that it might say "1 friend is awaiting your response", and you can click on that, it will take you to this persons name, and you can either accept them to be your friend or remove them.
