Find an equivalent fraction for 5 over 13 with a denominator of 39?

Answer Question

    Ok an equivalent fraction is one that has the same amount but is written differently such as 1/2 a pizza is the same as 2/4 of a pizza......1/3 of a cake is the same as 3/9ths

    so all you need to do is think of it as an actual thing like a pizza or a cake so if you chopped a pizza or cake into 13 pieces and you were allowed to eat 5 of them

    how many pieces would you get if you chopped it into 39 so

    if you change the bottom of the fraction from 13 to 39 you have times it by 3 correct

    so now you have to times the top by 3 too so 5 times by 3 is ......
    15 so answer is 15/39ths

    Hope that helps.

        Question like this are easy to answer.
        The setup for this question would be;
        5/13=?/39

        now just think what ever you do to the bottom you do to the top.
        So because 13x3=39 then you times the five by 3.

        So your answer is 5/13=15/39

        Hope this helps

        The answer is 15/39 because if you have to times 13 2 times to get 39 then you have to times 5 by the same number so its 15/39
