How Safe Is The Withdrawal Method?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

This is a method prone to or affected by chronic failure. Failure rates can be as high as 30 percent and the only argument in favour of resorting to this method is that it's better than nothing at all. In fact if one wants to cheat fate and wants to get pregnant they could try this method of contraception.

What it entails is that the penis is withdrawn from the vagina just before ejaculation and thereby ejaculating outside the orifice.

The risks arise due to some amount of sperm being released at the start intercourse and not necessarily right at the end. Inability of the male to withdraw in time or let go are also related risks.

Most people try a combination of withdrawal and natural family planning as a comprehensive contraceptive program.

Well it is safe meaning no side effects unless you consider pregnancy a side effect! It is not very effective, because the man releases semen in pre-ejaculate fluid. Also if a man has to "pull out" before ejaculation, it can lead to frustration for him.

The withdrawal method is when the male feels like he is getting ready
to cum, he "withdraws" his penis before ejaculating. This is not a good
method of birth control as your precum has enough sperm in it to get
your sweetie pregnant. Best to use a condom or just have oral sex.
