Who Was Malcolm X?

    Malcolm X, originally born as Malcolm Little, also referred to as Detroit Red and El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, was a well known Black Muslim Minister as well as National Spokesman for the Nation of Islam.

    Malcolm was also the creator of the Muslim Mosque, Inc and the Organization of Afro-American Unity. Throughout his life, Malcolm converted from being a drug dealer and robber to one of the most famous nationalist head in the United States. Quiet a few people though of him as a martyr of Islam as well as a champion of equality. As a revolutionary head, Malcolm X supported black pride, economic self reliance and identity politics.

    He eventually rose to become a world famous African American/Pan Africanist and human rights activist. Following a pilgrimage to Mecca in the year 1964, Malcolm converted to traditional Islam.
