    It is said that the expression serial killer was penned either by FBI agent Robert Ressler or by Dr. Robert D. Kepple. A serial killer basically is an individual who has committed more than three murders over a period of time, on regular intervals. Quiet a few serial killers are psychopaths, who are thought to have personality disorders and are not psychotic.

    They usually appear to be quiet sane, and at times are quiet charming and intellectual. Nearly all serial killers have dysfunctional surroundings. It is believed that they have had a traumatic childhood facing physical, sexual and psychological abuse.

    The aspect of fantasy is a serial killer's development is exceedingly vital. They generally fantasize murder even before adolescence. Serial killing is usually carried out without any particular motive.
