How To Make A Bob The Builder Cake?

Buy a cake and put an Image of Bob the builder :)

Easy Peasy!  Make a standard 8 in round cake, from your favourite recipe, or buy a mix.  When baked and cooled, spread with thin layer of buttercream, then cover with fondant icing coloured peach/skin colour.  Smooth icing with the palm of your hand, or the side of a straight mug.  Use yellow coloured icing on the top half of the cake to make the hat, then roll out a sausage of yellow, flatten it slightly and stick it (with a little water) on to the edge of your hat as a rim.  Make two flat round discs of peach icing and stick to the sides of the head as ears.  Make a nose shape out of the same peach colour and stick on.  From there, you can make simple eyes and mouth, either by using black coloured icing, or black food colouring painted on with an ordinary paint brush (make sure if painting, the icing on the cake is free of any icing sugar, and completely dry, otherwise the colour will run and bleed).  I also made a speech bubble out of more cake, iced it, wrote 'happy birthday' on it, and added a spanner and hammer again, made of icing.  Bob the Builder is a very simple character, so should be fairly easy to copy.
