Answer Question

We do not know whether there really are any black holes in space.  They are
likely to form as the end point of massive stars.

When a star that is over 3.7 times the size of our sun runs out of fuel to burn, i may become a black hole. There are many other routes it can take, such as a brown dwarf, If the collapsed star dos form a black hole all the mass of the star collapses in on a single point. The gravity here is so strong then even light cannot escape, hence the term "black". Also the intense gravity overcomes the strong force that keeps the electrons orbiting the atoms, meaning the collapse into the nucleus. Tasty =P
