I hope you enjoy the story of the happenings at Betty's Bay and Shiloh Bay as much as I did. I found a website on which, Sheilah Lloyd one of the operator's at Betty's Bay radar station shares her story from an operator's view. The South African Military History Society published her article on their site as a diary. It is delightful and I learned about a number of the women and men who ran the radar stations in South Africa during World War II.
Betty's Bay and Pringle Bay were located in Silversands at the mouth of the Steenbras River. Sheilah describes her trip from the Somerset West station to Betty's Bay where she was stationed. She and the other women shared the first women's barricks at this site. The Cape Hangklip station was located further up the mountain and was run by 8th Army veterans who had been reassigned as non-combatants. Pringle Bay was located nearby and off days were often spent there because of the great surfing it allowed.

Thank you for this info. In fact I have read that story from Sheilah Lloyd. I live in Betty's Bay but I have never heard of Shiloh Bay. I am studying a history of the area so I need all the info. I can get.
Thanks
