What Material Do I Use As A Worktop In My Kitchen To Tile On Top Of? Thanks.

The most practical, and economical material to use would be MDF, as it would be unseen when the tiles cover it, but it will provide a strong, slightly porous surface that is ideal to tile on.

You can use plywood, depending on what you're going to use this "worktop" for. Maybe use 3/4 inch thick plywood, it'll last you a long time. And won't swell or warp as easily as some other types of materials.
