Sulphuric acid is a very strong mineral acid. It is a water soluble mineral at all concentrations. It was at a point of time known as the oil of vitriol. The name was coined by the Alchemist Jabir ibn Hayyan.
The sulphuric acid has a lot of uses and applications. It has been recorded that the acid is produced a very large amount. It is greater than any other chemical other than water. It has been used principally for the purposes of processing ores, manufacturing fertilizers, refining oil, chemical synthesis and the processing of waste water.
Sulphuric acid has also been used in concentrated forms for the following purposes; in laboratories, as battery acid, as a fertilizer chamber, in tower acid, and for some purposes it is used concentrated.
