When Was The Yosemite National Park Added To The UNESCO World Heritage Site List?

Covering an area of one thousand one hundred and eighty-nine square miles, Yosemite National Park is located in Mariposa County and Tuolumne County, California, United States of America.  This vast, diverse land of beauty illustrates the major evolutionary stages of the earth and, thus, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1984.  The park is visited by over three million people every year interested in seeing the granite cliffs, the crystal streams, the Giant Sequoia groves and the majestic waterfalls.  The Yosemite National Park is also home to the American Black Bear, the Bobcat, the Grey Fox, the Mountain Kingsnake, the Mule Deer and a variety of birds and bats.  The first park set aside by the United States Federal Government, visitors to the Yosemite National Park have the chance to enjoy some hiking, rock climbing, sight-seeing, swimming, rafting, horseback riding, skiing, ice skating, snow shoeing and camping.
