I have a bearded dragon and a tortoise, you can tell the sex on both from the width of their tail (across) I found out both of mine are boys because their tail at the beginning (by their bum) is wide. I don't know if it is the same for Iguanas, my brother had a male that was 4' long!! Good luck, I don't think Petsmart knows jack, but look online or get a book!!

Hi there!! I found THE PERFECT website... I hope you find it as interesting as I did, although you might be disappointed to learn that it could take up to 2 years to determine the sex of an Iguana. They have to reach sexual maturity and be at least a certain length... Who woulda thought?!?!?

There is always DNA testing, the same as avian, the way a birds sex is determined. Just always remember when Iguanas are sheding NEVER let anyone PEEL it, THEY WILL BLEED OUT AND DIE. You may already know that, however many do not.

Just go on line look up Lguana.. Or you could call (pet smart.) the pet store. And Tell them about your lguana. And ask that question... Thare good. Thay will tell You. Good luck..
