Kenya is located in East Africa, bordering Ethiopia, Tanzania, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. Kenya gained its Independence in the year 1963. Kenya as a country was not known until British rulers drew boundaries all over Africa and thus formed a part of the colony they named Kenya. Since the area was divided into tribes, they soon stood against the British Empire and started a war of liberation in 1952. It was fought between the Britishers and the Mau Mau Gorilla group.. Due to their armed struggle, Kenya won independence in the year 1963.
