Where Does Judo Come From?

    The word Judo means "Gentle Way". It is basically used for the
    modern Japanese Martial art and combat sport. This sport has its origin
    in the country Japan during the late 19th century.

    This Martial art was developed by Japanese educator Jigoro Kano. He developed ways
    of fighting which were gentle and easy over the opponent. The first
    characteristic of Judo is that it involves indirect application of
    force to defeat the opponent.

    The second characteristic of Judo is that it is that it focuses on the way of softness. In other words, this art has been developed primarily for the purpose of governing and improving one self physically, morally and emotionally.
