Answer Question

It is called as TC in banking language. It is like paper instrument. It is a modus operandi to save money from theft. It is to do with your money in a better manner. Well it will not be free of cost. You are supposed o pay for it but its security is a great positive help so people go for it. It is helpful for transfer and transport of money from place to place in a safe way than ever before.

If in case, a person loses his cheque then he just need to contact the relevant bank. He should let them know that he has lost his TC, they will block the transaction of money. So he would be able to control the mishandling of TC. People go for it when they think that there is a risk to their money and they should take conscience care of it. They can transact money from one city to another by using the relevant banks. It is an easy method. It can be at different rates. It is up to banks and their policies.

A traveller's cheque is nothing but a preprinted, fixed-amount cheque intended for providing safe journey and having the ability to en-cash at the destination. The traveller's cheques were the prime option for the traveller's, even few years ago when the concept of ATM and credit cards were not very common, for they were easily replaceable in case of loss.

While exchanging a traveller's cheque, the recipient has to establish his/her identity beyond any doubt. S/he were required to sign on every leaf of the cheque at the time of purchasing them and the payee branch will now ensure such signatures are identical with the recipient's (please don't get them purchased by your parent and leave them at home!). Also, the signature should be matching with that placed on the identity prove. The payee agency will also ask for the receipt and other documents issued by the releasing branch (leaving them at safe in home is not a safe idea!). Local currency should be chosen while exchanging the cheques for cash.

Now days, use of traveller's cheque has become less attractive for the easily available ATM and credit card facility. On extreme cases, where no such facility does exist, traveller's cheques are being purchased. One major advantage of keeping the traveller's cheque is that it never expires and the purchaser is permitted to keep the cheque un-exchanged as long as s/he wishes.
