How Does A Dictionary Define Qualitative?

A dictionary defines the word qualitative as something that is related to quality or kind. It is a word used to describe the kind, type or direction of an object. It does not take into account the size, magnitude or degree of the object. Qualitative statements are comparative statements, but they do not quantify the objects that are being compared to each other. Qualitative observations are those observations which do not involve the use of any unit of measurement or number.
