A certified payroll is the payroll which is managed by a professional or a payroll service that is certified. Different countries have their associations to for the certifications.

    Certified payrolls include the list of employees, their salary rates, payroll taxes and other kinds of charges and calculate the amount that has to be paid to each employee. A person needs to be certified by the respective association in order to manage a payroll. Several payroll processing software can also be used but they also need certification.
