    Essendon Football Club is headquartered at the Essendon Recreation Reserve, which is located at Windy Hill in the Melbourne suburb of Essendon. The club is also known as the Bombers. It is an Australian Rules football club and is also formed as a part of the Australian Football League. It was established in the year 1871 as a junior club and later in the very next year it was recognized as a senior club. However all its home tournaments are played at the Telstra Dome and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

    This club is considered to be the richest and most famous clubs in the league, due to its most renowned players like Captain Matthew Lloyd and former captain James Hird who attract huge number of fans.

    The clubs main sponsor were Don Smallgoods, Nubrik (1984-1993), Transport Accident Commission "Speed Kills" (1994-2000) and Hutchison Telecoms "Orange" (2001-02). It current sponsor is "3 Mobile" (2003-present).
