1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The capital city of Andorra is Andorra la Vella. It is located in the south west part of Andorra. It is not a large city. It has a population of about 23,000 people (2005 estimate). Andorra la Vella is a city that thrives on the tourism industry. Because of its high elevations, there are several ski resorts. Andorra is located between Spain and France, so many travellers tend to stop in Andorra la Vella for skiing.  The climate is Alpine with very cold, freezing winters and hot, dry summers. Temperatures range from an average of around -1 Celsius in January and 20 Celsius in July. Native Andorrans account for only 33% of the population, with the plurality being Spanish (43%), and notable minorities of Portuguese (11%) and French (7%). Catalan is the official language, although Spanish and French are also spoken. Most of the inhabitants are Roman Catholics, with a high life expectancy of over 80 years
