Who Invented The Tampon Man Or Woman?

No one knows this as the tampon has been around so long, it seems likely that the idea evolved out of necessity and that would indicate women as the "inventors" though tampons have had various uses over the years (and still do) as wound packing, gun wadding etc, which would indicate that men are more likely to have developed them in other forms, either before ar after their common use. The modern mass produced tampon was the result of medical and manufacturing partnerships in the early 20th century so is probably mostly attributable to men, though even then a few women managed to penetrate the male dominated world of business.
