To remove the burn mark you would have to sand the area. The deeper the mark goes the deeper the sanding will be. Make sure you sand with the grain. Then, depending on the depth, you may have to use a wood filler. Do not use the cheap varieties, they have a tendency to come out. Make sure it is also the same color. Sand the rough edge when it dries, then either polyurethane or clear coat: Whichever you have on the floor.
