The energy produced by the atom is known as atomic energy. This energy can be due to the chemical bond present within atoms which helps in the formation of molecules. This energy may also include nuclear energy which is produced as a result of nuclear reactions such as nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. Energy is released when a heavy nucleus breaks into two stable nuclei. Energy also releases when two unstable nuclei combine to form a heavy stable nucleus. The radiations which are emitted by radioactive elements also posses energy with them.
