What Is Wrong With My Van?

We have a 2000 Ford Wind star. It was running rough and stalled. We have had it in to a Mechanic twice. He has put a new coil, plugs and wires in. It still seems like there is something wrong. Sometimes when it's idling, I'm afraid it's going to stall. It idles rough. My husband said when he went up a hill with it, it chugged or rattled.

The spark and the fuel has to be delivered at the same rate. If one is working ahead or behind the other, it would cause the engine to "rattle".
Since you have had what sounds like the ignition issue addressed, it may be a fuel distribution problem.

Those vans have a camshaft position sensor that takes info from the timing of the camshaft and sends it to the computer to adjust the timing (spark/fuel ratio) they have a tendency to crap out. You should take it to a good mechanic and ask them to run a computer on it.
