    The main thing to avoid with all rodents is dusty material, as this can give them all sorts of breathing problems. You should also avoid synthetic materials like the cotton wool-style bedding, as the tough fibres can injure them.

    You're best off with soft paper bedding (including toilet tissue that's unscented / undyed), shredded paper, dust-extracted shavings or hay.
