Break apart is a strategy for multiplication. For example, to multiply 36 and 4, you first break apart the 36 into 30 and 6, now multiplyl both with muliplier 4. And then add both of them. Like 30*4 + 6*4 = 120 + 24 = 144
This is easier and faster method.
