How Do You Determine The Most Appropriate Management Style In An Office Environment?

There are so many approaches to management that are, in my opinion, very unique to the industry and organization. There are also, of course, some basic guidelines or principles, but they should be just that, guides. The foundation of any approach should incorporate the scientific management philosophy, which was popularized by Frederick W. Taylor. Add to this the fourteen principles and five management elements that were introduced by Henri Fayol and a firm business configuration will begin to materialize.

Theory Z tends to stand out as the most viable option, if only one standard approach were to be selected, as is. While utilizing this management strategy, I see the contingency approach as sort of an expansion pack to the basic idea. Different scenarios, especially those that take place with regard to diversity in the workplace and human relations, call for separate approaches because business is, unfortunately, not one size fits all.
