This is a condition that can usually be fixed if treated quickly, but needs to be treated immediately to prevent permanent damage.

Check the phone book for your local humane society and give them a call, or call your family vet. Explain your financial situation and see if they know a rescue organization that can get you free medical care for the kitten. If you're a senior citizen you can often get steeply discounted or free health care for a pet through the local humane society. For the kitten's sake you could at least try a couple of phone calls.

If you're able to get the cat medical care, see if a local shelter can help you find someone to adopt her. There are often people eager to adopt kittens or younger pets. Best of luck to you and the kitten, hope you both heal well!
