I guess, first of all, are you a non-exempt or an exempt employee? Sounds like you may be exempt if you are a commissioned employee. The Fair Labor Standards Act has a list of "non-exempt" and "exempt" job titles and their classifications that will help you decide what classification you are. If you are non-exempt, your employer is required to pay you overtime if you work over 40 hours work week. You may want to contact your Labor Board in your State.

I am a commissioned sales person. Every day i am required to be at work one hour before the store opens to attend a meeting and help clean the store. I have never been compensated for this time.
