Yes it is possible through the procedure called amniocentesis , in which the amniotic fluid present in the mother's womb surrounding the baby is withdrawn. This fluid contains the fetal cell that are being shed from the baby during cell division. These cells are used to analyse the chromosomal profile of the fetus, therby enabling us to check the normality of the baby.when identified we can further treat the baby for good health or simply abort the baby.
