Although your question is very vague but i will try to answer. I guess banking scenario has entirely changed since the emergence of internet. Now one need not to go to any branch , 75% of banking process can be done through internet. Moreover usage of ATM machines has created ease of withdrawing money and now even many machines accept money as well and one can also print demand draft as well without any human involvement.

If you want to know from the start evolution of banks mean changes in banking system from time to time
banks had three ancestors
1-merchants 2-money lenders 3-goldsmiths
merchants used to issue documents use as money for the transaction of goods and services
moneylenders used to get loans from the people
.people used to keep their money with moneylenders who then give the money to business enterprises and get interest
goldsmiths kept gold and silver of people withe them and gave them a slip to use it for the transaction of money then slowly it became a cheque .then goldsmiths realized that a large amount of deposits remain idle so they started giving loan to people and get profit so this initiated the creation of credit money, well this is  how banking evolved now it has been modernised

Banks have come a long way from
the ancient world of the temples to gold smiths but their basic business practices
have not changed. Banks issue credit to people who need it, but demand
interest on top of the repayment of the loan.
