Why Do More Natural Disasters Recur In Some Parts Of The World?

    Answers

Owing to their geographical locations certain parts of the world are more prone to certain natural disasters. Droughts are most widespread in Africa as millions of people live in arid and semi-arid lands around Sahara Desert, the world's largest desert, which is bigger than the entire United States of America. There is a very little rain and famine is widespread.

Floods are most prevalent in moon soon Asia in countries such as China, India, Bangladesh, Indo China and Philippines. The concentrated heavy rain during the rainy season in the summer causes many low-lying areas to flood. When river banks burst owing to excessive water in the upper course of the river, from typhoons or from tropical cyclones, disastrous floods take a heavy toll on both people and property. The great flood of the Huang He and Chang Jiang of China, the Ganges and Brahmaputra of India and Bangladesh kill millions as these fertile river basins are densely populated.

Earthquakes and volcano eruptions are most common in regions with a high seismic activity. Countries located on both sides of the pacific Ocean known as `the Pacific Ring of Fire` , such as Japan, China, Indonesia, Alaska, California, Central America, Peru and Chile experience frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
