    Aloha...

The answer depends in part on what type of nature photography she wants to do, i.e., animals, landscapes, botanical, insect, etc.

Some good tips can be found in the articles listed in the Google results for a search on "how to take nature photos".

There are also many good books (nature photography books at Amazon) and magazines (i.e., Outdoor Photographer) which cover this topic in depth. Happy shooting!

I have to agree with Tana-Lee on this one.  There is a big difference depending on what type of Nature Photography and also if you want very close shots or distant shots, shots from a distance that you want to bring in close, etc.  There are many different types of lenses and filters also.  For wildlife you need a lot of patience.  Wildlife will not just come to you.  For birds I would say that you do need a blind if you are going to be fairly close at all.  A bird can see you breathe from quite a distance.  There is just so much to take into consideration.  I consider myself a beginner but am learning fast.  Feel free to check out some of my shots at pbase.com

      Good Luck!

I would think from a blind, and with a telephoto lens.
