I Have A 7-Month Old Kitten, And I Noticed He Breathes Quite Fast. Do Kittens Breathe Faster Than Adult Cats?
Do kittens breathe faster than adult cats? It's been several years since I've had a kitten, so I can't remember.

They do breath a little faster than an adult cat, and will slow down as they get older, but if it seems that the kitty is laboring to breath, then you might want to have it checked out. Hope this helps, good luck.

Yes, kittens have tiny little lungs so, less capacity in there. They breathe quicker, and their hearts beat like a triphammer. As the above answer suggests, if the breathing is labored, then you may need to have the kitten checked out but, if the kitten seems find, and playful and, in general, normal, then you should be ok.

Thank you both, he seems normal otherwise, but after seeing him with that upper respiratory infection he had when I got him, I guess I'll always worry a bit more about him. Neither vet that he saw mentioned that they noticed anything out of the ordinary, and he came through being neutered with flying colors! Just another anxious mom.lol I think I worry more about him than I do my 17 year old cat. One of the vets said she couldn't really hear his heartbeat very well, because he purrs so loud!
