What Does The Name Joseph Mean?

Joseph is my middle name, and I'm curious as to it's meaning. Is it Greek or Hebrew? And what does it mean. My first name is Michael.

If you click here you will find a good explanation given by another Blurter of this name, which is sometimes also translated as "God will add another (son.)"

I don't know if you already have the meaning of your first name? If not, you can find information about that on Blurtit too if you use the "go" window at the top (basically Michael is also Hebrew and means "who is like God.")

The first name Joseph is of Hebrew Origin and it means 'He shall Add'.

The last name Joseph is of English, German, French, and Jewish origin.  All the origins are from personal name, Hebrew  Yosef, 'may He (God) add (another son).
