Everyone Seems To Think I Have An Eating Disorder But I Don't. How Can I Show Them I'm Fine?

Answer Question

There is a lot of focus on eating disorders at the moment - the ongoing battle about the health of size zero models is only fuelling this. Eating disorders are very damaging to your mental and physical health and obviously if you haven't got a problem with your weight these accusations could become quite irritating, even if the people are saying it because they care.

You may want to look at why people have this opinion. For example have you lost a lot of weight recently (on purpose or not), do you generally look well and healthy? Do you comment on what other people eat or what they look like a lot? Do you have quite strict eating rules? Do you eat and then feel guilty about it or think about eating and decide against it? Just because you don't think you have a problem, doesn't necessarily mean there isn't one.

All you can do is assure these people that you are fine. Eat healthy, filling meals in front of them.

Ask them why they think this and have a chat with them to see if you can dispell their fears.
