How Is A Bra Size Measured?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A bra is an article of clothing which is used to support and elevate a woman's breasts. There are several types of bras which are popularly used today such as, backless, strapless bra, or the push or plunge help in focusing on the bust and cleavage. In order to offer full utility a bra must fit properly. It must fit properly in both dimensions. Generally women select a bra on a trial and error basis. This is the easiest. Many countries employ the metric system (centimetres) although the majority of them calculate in inches to determine the size of the bra it self. Bra size depends on two values; under band and the cup size (size of the breast itself). It is denoted by values such as 30D (30 inch band and D cup).

Sizes range from A (smallest) to D or more. Sometime even AAA for sizes smaller than A or DDD
For sizes larger than a regular D. Bras may be measured with the bra on or off. Braless measurements are more reliable.
